Meal PlanThis house has a mandatory supplemental meal plan. Members pay their meal plan fees at the central office. House members purchase communal groceries and are reimbursed through this shared fund. House members also plan and prepare meals communally.
EligibilityNew members of Agnes House apply through the central office. They then must attend an interview or submit a written or video statement explaining their suitability. Existing house members confirm their membership.
HistoryAgnes MacPhail House houses 11 members, 4 washrooms and 1 kitchen. Agnes MacPhail was the first woman elected to the Canadian Parliament. A member of the CCF party (Co-operative Commonwealth Federation), a predecessor of the NDP, she was an active supporter of Co-ops. CCRI purchased Agnes MacPhail house in 1965.
